How To Submit an Application For Algeria Visa

You can submit an Algeria visa application in one of the following ways:

  • You, by appearing at the Algerian consulate/embassy in person and handing in the required documents.

How long does it take to obtain a visa for Algeria?

The length of time it takes to process a visa for Algeria is determined by the type of visa you’re applying for, the country from which you’re applying, and the particular embassy or consular office.
However, the processing time for an Algerian visa is typically between 10 and 20 working days. To be certain, though, check with the embassy or consulate where you’re applying. The application’s processing time will be longer if you mail it in.
The processing period for your visa application may be delayed or even denied if you provided any incorrect documentation.

Duration of an Algeria visa

The length of your Algerian visa depends on why you’re going there. A tourist or business visa for Algeria can typically be obtained for a maximum of 90 days. Your visa specifies the time you can enter Algeria and the number of days you are permitted to stay there. By that time, you must leave the country to avoid being persecuted.
Be careful because overstaying a visa can lead to detention at the airport as you depart and perhaps imprisonment.

Can an Algeria Visa be Extended?

A visa for Algeria may be extended past the date of its initial issuance. The Foreigners’ Office (Bureau des Étrangers) in Algeria is where you must apply for an extension of your Algerian visa if you have a good reason and an invitation from a local Algerian. You must do this at least 15 days before your existing visa expires.
When you seek the extension of your Algerian visa, the person who invited you must send you an invitation letter and accompany you.
The administration considering your case has complete discretion over the choice.

Algeria Visa Fees

There is no standard set of Algeria visa fees that are uniform for everyone.

The fees for Algerian visas differ based on the type of visa you’re applying for (single-entry/multiple-entry, long-stay/short-stay) as well as the Algeria consulate or embassy handling your application.

The required payment method also differs depending on the way you apply.

If you apply in person, you may have to pay in cash at the time of application, or you may be asked to pay via bank draft in advance and hold the payment slip.

If you apply by mail, you will usually have to pay through a bank transfer.

Check the website of the Algerian embassy or consulate to learn their preferred payment method for the Algeria visa fee as well as the specific amount.

The Algeria visa fee is non-refundable.

How To Transit Through Algeria

If you have to transit through Algeria or clear immigration in an Algerian airport on your way to another country, you must have an Algerian transit visa.
