How To Check NIN On Your Phone

NIN is an acronym for National Identification Number. It is a special number given to people in Nigeria when they register with the National Identity Database, which is run by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). Every person’s biometric information is linked to their NIN, which acts as a means of identification and authentication, through the central identity database. It is a necessary prerequisite for several services, such as opening bank accounts, getting a driver’s license, getting a passport, and completing other official transactions in Nigeria. However, for an individual who has misplaced his NIN and is willing to retrieve it using his registered phone number, follow this process;

1. On your phone dial *346#

2. On the list of displayed options, choose option 1 which says “NIN retrieval”

3. Next, your NIN will be displayed on your screen. A fee of N20 is charged for this service.

NB: Before you use this service, make sure you are using the phone number registered with your NIN.
